Floridacivpro.com was started in July 2008 because I was frustrated with the existing print and internet sources for accessing the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure. Starting with only a few visitors per day, the site has grown immensely and now includes FloridaRulesofAppellateProcedure.com, the Willis & Baruch Florida Rules Decisions Reporter, and the Florida Legal Wiki. As of April 2012, the sites collectively receive over 37,000 pageviews per month.
Existing legal research can be incredibly expensive. This website is an effort to provide an alternative. Of course, this website is free to use, but not free to provide. I have spent countless hours on the legal and technical aspects of the site. My co-blogger Jason Baruch has been of tremendous assistance in helping maintain the Florida Rules Decisions Reporter and I thank him for his help and faith in joining me early in the process. When he joined it was not clear whether this would be a successful endeavor.
I appreciate all the words of thanks I have received over the years. If you have benefited from this site, please pay it forward by contributing content to the Florida Legal Wiki.
Any suggestions are welcome: willisb at gmail.com. Also, with the development of The Florida Legal Wiki, I could use some assistance from Law students looking for an internship.
Best,
Brian Willis
